Get version in sql server 2008

In this post we will discuss how we can check whether our sql server is 32 bit or 64 bit, version of sql server 2008.

It will also give information like whether it is sql server 2008 or 2005 or 2012 etc.

Also you can check out some of my previous posts on:

- Download Microsoft Enterprise Library 6 developer guide free

- Data access block of Microsoft enterprise library 6.0 using stored procedure

- How to display serial number automatically in GridView in asp.net?

The sql query to get the version is:

SELECT @@VERSION

The output will come like below:

Output:
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP3) - 10.0.5500.0 (X64)   Sep 21 2011 22:45:45   Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation  Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
